Health Equity: A Candid Conversation with Your Peers

Equity staff at philanthropic institutions have long supported efforts to address injustice and dismantle systemic racism. This work has intensified over the past several months as many in our nation, heartbroken and outraged by recent and continuing acts of violence against Black people and other communities of color, have demanded equity and justice. At the same time, health and economic disparities compounded by the COVID-19 pandemic have prompted a broader national conversation about declaring racism a public health crisis. On this call, staff responsible for equity work connected with peers, identified common challenges, exchanged potential solutions, and built collective knowledge. This was a candid, confidential, and unscripted discussion designed to identify trends, offer peer support, and cultivate concrete partnerships, with an eye toward collective action.
