Investing in Equity: Funders’ Role in Forming Food is Medicine

Participants engaged in a conversation focused on how strategic investments in community-based organizations (CBOs) could set a course for equity and advance the Food is Medicine landscape with integrity. We introduced the FED Collective—a dynamic alliance of CBO practitioners championing Fidelity, Equity, and Dignity in Food is Medicine programs. Participants discovered how funders could collaborate with this groundbreaking network and other CBOs like theirs to catalyze change and foster healthier, more resilient communities nationwide. Speakers included Allison DeHonney of Buffalo Go Green, Janssen Hang of HAFA, Ismail Samad of Corbin Hill, Monica Valdes Lupi of The Kresge Foundation, and Marlene Yanez of La Semilla.
