As funders look for new ways to build healthy, livable, and equitable communities, there is growing recognition of transportation as an important social determinant of health. Transportation is linked to multiple health outcomes such as access to health care, rates of injury, and levels of physical activity. Transportation is also linked to other upstream factors that shape health including housing, employment, and education. This webinar explored how foundations, local communities, and other cross-sector partners are working together to address the intersections of health and transit. Speakers included: Katy Smith of the Piedmont Health Foundation and Diana Williams of The Funders Network for Smart Growth and Livable Communities.
