The Latino population in the southern United States is flourishing. How can funders ensure that Latino communities in southern states have access to quality, affordable health care? Are there replicable solutions from other regions? Are there promising approaches unique to the South? How can you spark strategic conversations at your foundation to begin or ramp up efforts in this area?
This dynamic strategy session focused on maximizing the unique health care opportunities for the Latino community in the South by: describing the changing demographics and what it means for your work; learning lessons from other foundations and their grantees on reaching and engaging Latinos; identifying ways to increase access to care for Latinos through the Affordable Care Act and the safety net; and exploring ways to leverage Latino talent in the health care workforce.
