Across the country, philanthropy is supporting efforts to redesign the built environment in order to improve health and wellness. How can grantmakers help ensure that community members are fully engaged in these efforts?
On Wednesday, November 13, Grantmakers In Health (GIH) convened the strategy session Engaging Communities to Create Healthy Places in Denver, Colorado. Sponsored by The Colorado Health Foundation with in-kind support from Kaiser Permanente Colorado, this daylong meeting featured open and honest strategic conversations, as well as site visits to two neighborhood projects that are successfully engaging diverse communities in decisionmaking about healthy neighborhood redevelopment and redesign.
