Firearm Violence Prevention Learning Community: Evidence-based Prevention Strategies

Friday, February 16, 2024, from 1:00 - 2:30 pm EST

Building on the energy and momentum that emerged from the 2023 Annual Conference pre-conference session, Public Health Approaches to Firearm Violence Prevention, Grantmakers In Health (GIH) is pleased to announce the creation of a learning community focused on philanthropic strategies to prevent firearm-related deaths and injuries. This first virtual convening of the learning community provided an overview of the group’s purpose and scope, explored participants’ goals and programming priorities, and considered evidence regarding the risks of, and interventions for, firearm harm. Emmy Betz, Director of the Firearm Injury Prevention Initiative at the University of Colorado’s School of Medicine, served as a featured speaker.

Contact Eileen Salinsky if you are interested in joining the learning community.
